Over the past 3.5 years, Councilwoman Cindy Edwards has worked continuously to strengthen Jacksonville’s future — delivering on her promises and bringing real, measurable progress to our city.

Cindy has helped shape policies that improve regional partnerships, planning, and community development. True to her campaign promises, she played a key role in fostering the partnership with the Y to bring a much-needed aquatic center to Jacksonville — and she’s been instrumental in advancing the vision for a large-scale multipurpose complex that will serve residents for generations to come.

She has also been a strong voice for our city on the state and national stage, representing Jacksonville at North Carolina and Federal Association of Defense Communities summits, ensuring our military installations, service members, families, and veterans are always a top priority.

Early in her term, Cindy tackled a tough but critical issue: the city’s workforce crisis. She advocated for long-overdue pay adjustments to retain our city’s talented employees — and the results speak for themselves. Turnover is down, applications are up, and a diverse,  highly qualified workforce is helping Jacksonville grow.
